EXHIBIT DESIGN
Split between two classes, I contributed on a meaningful collaboration with several local and national organizations, including the Alabama State Chapter Trail of Tears Association, the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, UNA Collier Library, and the Department of Art, to create an interpretive mural commemorating Native American heritage in the Shoals region.
The mural will serve as a significant reflection on the region's history, particularly in relation to the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which led to the tragic Cherokee Trail of Tears in 1838-1839. The project is part of the University of North Alabama's preparations for its Bicentennial in 2030, which coincides with the 200th anniversary of the Indian Removal Act.
